Elliott Storm, a 100% disabled Vietnam combat veteran, struggled with the ‘inner demons’ that veterans shared coming home from an unpopular war.
He wrote the book intending a personal catharsis but the result was entirely unexpected. THESE SCARS ARE SACRED now helps others understand, and in many cases regain, a level of trust needed to bridge the gap of pain caused by PTSD.

Hundreds of veterans are now productive members of society due to intervention and referrals by Storm. Keenly aware of how the VA system works, Elliott was even named “Veterans Advocate Of The Year” by the Small Business Administration. As returning veterans of current wars seek to get back to their lives after serving our nation, there are now many support groups ready to help.
From the Naval War College, to major universities, hospitals, and countless veterans groups, Elliott Storm presents the historical foundation and causes of PTSD and how it evolved. Veterans, medical professionals, even a state Attorney General have expressed support for the educational value in understanding and treating the causes of PTSD.

A regular on talk shows and veterans groups, Elliott Storm has been invited to speak on the subject of PTSD and the Scars That Are Sacred. “He finally says what we have been feeling for years” is a common reaction from veterans. Families and friends of veterans find his presentation (and book) ‘illuminating’ and have thanked him for the understanding they now have.
